hood of car lifted

Obviously, your engine is the heart and soul of your car, truck, or SUV. When your engine requires maintenance or repair, rest assured your vehicle is in good hands at Green Light Garage in Mesa.

gas engine

While diesel engines have become more common in trucks and certain cars, overwhelmingly the most common car, truck, and SUV powerhouse found on the road today is the gasoline combustion engine. At Green Light Garage in Mesa, our technicians are skilled in every aspect of gasoline engine maintenance and repair, to keep yours reliably on the road and running strong.

Without a working battery, your car will not be able to start. If you perform proper maintenance, however, an average car battery can start your car reliably for roughly four years. Your vehicle's radio and headlights, plus a slew of other important functions, are powered by an electrical current generated by your vehicle’s engine but a vital part of generating electricity is having a place to store it while it’s not being used, which is where a car battery comes into play. The battery holds electrical energy while a car is off in order to help the engine turn over and create a spark to start internal combustion.  What you don't want is to have a bad battery!!

55 chevy series 2 pickup. V8 engine was lacking power, Ken got the ignition corrected, (previous mechanic had the distributor miss timed and was timing retarded.) And that's the correct non PC TERM for those concerned. Ken reset the distributor to the correct position, and the engine came to life, sounds and pulls like a V8 again. Valve seals replaced during this visit also. Great shop for me. Would recommend. Will use the shop again.
man broke down on side of road with car hood up

At Green Light Garage in Mesa, AZ, we’ve seen a lot of worn out and tired transmissions. How do you know if it’s time to replace yours?

vehicle driving down the road

You don’t have to buy a new, fuel-efficient car to get great fuel efficiency. No one wants to trade a fuel bill for a car payment, so take a look at our top 5 ways to save on fuel and you may just be able to pocket a little extra money at the end of the month.

1. Change Your Driving Style - If you’re the kind of person who enjoys the rush of hard acceleration, typically runs 10 mph over the speed limit and brakes abruptly, we’ve got bad news: you’re hurting your vehicle’s fuel economy, and your wallet, in a big way. Depending on the kind of vehicle you drive and just how extreme you are with the throttle and brake, tempering your driving style can up your vehicle’s fuel economy by more than 5 mpg. That’s a serious bump. Scaling back the speed by just 5 mph means you’ll also see an increase in fuel economy.

Brakes

At Green Light Garage in Mesa, we know that in order to keep your car in good shape, it helps to know how it works. Here’s a quick rundown of a system that’s very important, but you take for granted until there’s a problem; your brakes.

Your truck was built for work. Whether you drive a Ram, Chevy, or Ford diesel pickup, your truck was designed to endure, day in and day out. Nonetheless, eventually, there will come a time where your engine needs major repair - and you’ll have to make a decision on what to do next. At Green Light Garage in Mesa, AZ, we’re here to help.
